In the Area:
The island of Pag is the most economically developed of the Croatian islands. It is well known for its sheep, the cheese they produce and its traditional lace. It does not have any especially picturesque landscapes, yet it still has its own particular charm. Simuni is a small fishing village about 11km from the village of Pag, which is located in the Bay of Pag, where the sea is shallow and the mud is considered to be healing. The village of Pag dates from the 15th century, and a portion of the town wall, the Collegiate Church and St. Marguerite Church (both 15th century) are well preserved. There are nice panoramic views from the tops of St. Vid and St. Juraj. A summer carneval is organized annually in the Basaca Campground.
