The hostess is on board to take care of the guests’ needs, prepare meals and keep the boat in order. Together with the skipper (or the other crew members) she cleans and tidies up the boat and cooks for the guests.
On smaller boats, where the hostess and the skipper are the only crew members, she is always at their service, to try to help them with a possible problem or answer their questions. Although her job is primarily keeping the boat clean, the hostess is also constantly communicating with the guests; she is well educated and informed on the current issues, so she can explain to them a bit about the local customs, culture or tradition, as well as to represent her company and her country in high quality.
