In the Area:
Betina, on the northeastern coast of the island of Murter, is well-known for its sandy beaches and pine forests. The Illyrians were the earliest inhabitants of the island and the remains of the Illyrian-Roman settlement of Collentum are located near Betina. The island of Murter is separated from the mainland by the narrow Murterski Kanal but a bridge links the island to the mainland.
