Punat, Krk
Punat is nautical and tourist center of the island Krk. It isl located in Punat Bay, naturally protected from the inconvenience of the open sea, and a paradise for surfers and sailors with the highest, well-equipped marina on the Adriatic. Chief occupations are farming, olive growing, fishing, shipbuilding and tourism, especially nautical. In front of the village, in the central part of the shallow bay, is a forested island Košljun, with a small pier and a Franciscan monastery. Punat is one of the leading centers of yachting tourism on the Croatian coast. In front of the village the sea is shallow and the bottom is muddy, and on the open the sea is 2,5-3 meters deep.
